Elastic laces
I ordered some additional elastic laces. What should I bear in mind when attaching the end clips?
First, trim the elastic laces to the required length and apply a drop of a suitable liquid adhesive to prevent fraying.
There are two different types of clips that you can attach to the elastic shoelaces.
- Tapered end clips
Thread the elastic laces through the tapered clip, tie the laces in a knot, attach the end cap, and click it firmly into place. If you want to reopen the end cap, you can carefully pry it open with a suitable object (for example with the blade of a small screwdriver or a small kitchen knife).
- Flat end clips
Thread the elastic laces through the end clips as far as the nubbed area and then click them securely into place. The hook in the catch can be bent outwards if it does not lock in place firmly enough. If you want to reopen the end clip, you can carefully insert a suitable object (e.g. the blade of a small screwdriver or a small kitchen knife) into one of the recesses and pry open the end clip.
