What types of insoles are there and what are the differences?

Insoles provide additional hygiene, regulate the internal volume, protect against cold ground and moisture, and can also be temperature-regulating.

Differences between the various insoles:

Washi and Feder insole:

  • Thickness: approx. 2.5 mm
  • Material: Upper material Washi (75% paper, 25% polyester), underside: Lunatur (80% EVA* and 20% walnut shells)
  • Note for allergy sufferers: The underside of the insole contains walnut shells.
  • Special features: quick-drying; supplement for Tanuki in water use; the thinnest insole

The Washi insole is ideal as a replacement or change insole, especially as a change insole for Tanuki models when used in water. It is available in natural and black colors. With a print on the upper material, it is called the Feder insole.

The Feder insole has the same material properties as the Washi insole; it simply has a different design and is therefore also visually particularly suitable for Feder sandals.

Hanfy insole:

  • Thickness approx. 4 mm
  • Material: Upper material 100% cotton, lining: hemp-flax fleece (50% hemp, 50% flax)
  • Special features: the all-rounder, lies or is sewn into almost all Wildlings; vegan

The Hanfy insole with a lining made of hemp and flax is insulating, temperature-regulating, and moisture-absorbing.

It is therefore suitable for year-round wear and is the vegan alternative to the "Wooly" insole.

The integrated membrane keeps moisture out.

Hanfy pure insole:

  • Thickness approx. 4 mm
  • Material: Upper material 100% cotton, lining: hemp-flax fleece (50% hemp, 50% flax)
  • Note for allergy sufferers: The underside of the insole is treated with latex.
  • Special features: particularly suitable against slipping; vegan

Hanfy pure does without a membrane, allowing it to manage with less synthetic fiber. It is coated with latex on the bottom, so it hardly slips, and is also particularly flexible.

Hanfy double insole:

  • Thickness approx. 7 mm
  • Material: Upper material 100% cotton, lining: hemp-flax fleece (50% hemp, 50% flax)
  • Special features: particularly suitable for volume compensation for slender feet; vegan, the thickest

The Hanfy double insole with a lining made of hemp and flax is insulating, temperature-regulating, and moisture-absorbing.

It is therefore suitable for year-round wear and is the vegan alternative to the "Felty" insole.

The integrated membrane keeps moisture out.

The hemp-flax lining is twice as thick as the other two Hanfy insoles. With its volume, it can contribute to a better fit.

Due to its thickness of approx. 7 mm, it is especially suitable for narrow feet to reduce the internal volume of shoes.

Wooly insole:

  • Material: Upper material: Loden (100% virgin wool), underside coating: natural latex
  • Thickness: approx. 4 mm
  • Note for allergy sufferers: The underside of the insole is treated with latex.
  • Special features: particularly good against slipping; wool from Nordwolle; Wooly can be trimmed to fit a smaller size if needed

The wool of this insole comes from Nordwolle. It is felted and thus processed into a very robust loden. The natural properties of the wool warm and insulate in winter, provide temperature balance, absorb moisture, and hardly retain odors. The underside of the insole is coated with small nubs of white natural latex to prevent slipping.

Felty insole:

  • Material: Upper material: wool felt (100% virgin wool), underside coating: natural latex
  • Thickness: approx. 5-7 mm
  • Note for allergy sufferers: The underside of the insole is treated with latex.
  • Special features: With frequent use, the insole becomes slightly thinner over time and adapts to the foot; the warmest insole; Felty can be trimmed to fit a smaller size if needed

The Felty insole made of thick wool felt insulates and warms the foot.

The natural properties of the wool warm and insulate in winter, provide temperature balance, absorb moisture, and hardly retain odors.

The underside is coated with natural latex to prevent slipping. Since it is a pure natural product, the latex layer appears transparent to yellowish speckled.

If additional thick socks and the Felty insole are to keep you warm in winter, we recommend choosing your shoe one size larger if necessary.
